Djerassi Resident Artist

My collaborator Dawn Sumner and I were July fellows at the Djerassi Resident Artists program, as part of their first session focused on art and science. Our work and the work of our fellow “Scientific Delirium Madness” residents was highlighted at the Djerassi Residency Annual Open House, July 27, the one day of the year the grounds are open to the public.

Dream Vortex 4.0

While at Djerassi, we made major breakthroughs on the Dream Vortex. After three years of work developing the concept and programming, this interactive, 3-D installation is starting to work. Here’s video of the vortex and Dawn’s commentary on our work, with stills from the new version and a bit on the interactivity, here.

It’s All The Real World: New Installation

Concurrently with Dream Vortex 4.0, I made a studio installation about creative process, It’s All The Real World.

Arts, Humanities, and Complex Networks E-Book

As a co-organizer of this year’s Arts, Humanities, and Complex Networks (AHCN) symposium, a Leonardo-sponsored satellite meeting of NetSci2014, I participated in a panel and an amazing day of conversation about networks and culture on June 3 at the University of California, Berkeley. Papers from this year’s symposium will be added to the AHCN e-book published by Leonardo.  If you already have the book the papers are a free update; if you would like to get it, it’s available here.
